Meet my Mother

My Mother

Listen.

Put it into your heart, my smallest child,

that the thing that frightened you,

the thing that afflicted you is nothing:

Do not let it disturb you...

Am I not here,

I who am your mother?

Are you not under my shadow and protection?

Am I not the source of your joy?

Are you not in the hollow of my mantle,

in the crossing of my arms?

Do you need something more?

"I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; They will strike at your head, while you strike at their heel." -Genesis 3:15

"When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple there whom he loved, he said to his mother, 'Woman, behold, your son.' Then he said to the disciple, 'Behold, your mother.' And from that hour the disciple took her into his home." -John 19: 26-27

"A great sign appeared in the sky, a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars." -Rev. 12:1

"Since Christians are the mystical body of Christ, Mary became our mother, too, at the Annunciation." -(CCC, 973). National Catholic Register -Guide To The Rosary

MARY, MOTHER OF GOD:
"When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the infant leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth, filled with the holy Spirit, cried out in a loud voice and said, “Most blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb. And how does this happen to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?"
Luke 1:41-43

"Devotion to you, O Blessed Virgin, is a means of salvation which God gives to those whom he wishes to save."
St. John Damascene, source: Treatise on True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin

"Never be afraid of loving the Blessed Virgin too much. You can never love her more than Jesus did." -St. Maximilian Mary Kolbe

"She came simply as a mother."" -Mother Agnes Mary Donovan's comment on the Guadalupe apparition. Guadalupe: The Miracle and the Message.

"God has formed the soul and body of the Virgin Mary full of the Holy Spirit, so that she is without all sins, for she has conceived and borne the Lord Jesus." -Martin Luther, 1532. source: wikipedia

"Catholics do not worship Mary; they honor Mary because her Son honored her." -Fr. William Casey

“The work of our redemption began at the moment when the Word descended from Heaven in order to assume a human body in the womb of Mary. From that moment, and for the next nine months, the Blood of Christ was the Blood of Mary, taken from Her Immaculate Heart; the Heart of Christ was beating in unison with the Heart of Mary.” -The Servant of God Lúcia de Jesus Rosa dos Santos (source - EWTN)

If my Mother Mary was not assumed into Heaven by the power of God, there would certainly be millions flocking to her grave site. But they haven't and they don't - because she isn't there.

Mother of God: Mary gave birth to a Son who was divine, but also assumed a human nature (one person but two natures), and that is why we call her the Mother of God.

Mary said yes on behalf of all people.
